According to NY Times report Google CEO Eric Schmidt has confirmed the Google tablet device which will run over Android operating system and the company is also experimenting in “stealth mode” with publishers to explore delivery of books, magazines and other content on a tablet.

Gmail Introduces Drag & Drop File Attachement

Gmail introduces a new feature drag and drop file attachment for Google Chrome and Firefox 3.6 users, which is directly enabled to Gmail accounts instead of Labs features.
This drag and drop attachment option allows Gmail users to just drag the file to which they want to attach from their computer and drop onto Gmail message which they are composing and that’s all.

Facebook Chat on Your Desktop IM Clients

Yes! Now any IM client or messenger could support Facebook Chat. You don’t have to stay logged in to Facebook in your browser and can receive messages from your friends, right on your IM client. Facebook Messenger is probably the only thing that has been lacking in otherwise a complete social network. Now Facebook Chat supports Jabber/XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol), an open protocol for instant messaging, that can be integrated into any desktop or web based software. Google Talk also uses same protocol. This could benefit both, Facebook users as well as Facebook developers.

Acer working on frameless laptop with touchscreen keyboard?

Would you believe that Acer is working on a frameless laptop with touchscreen keyboard? As far-fetched as the idea might be, it’s certainly plausible, expected even. The idea, as rumored by DigiTimes, involves doing away with the display’s frame by printing colors directly onto the back of the display’s reinforced glass substrate from Corning (a la Gorilla Glass presumably).
