Yes! Now any IM client or messenger could support Facebook Chat. You don’t have to stay logged in to Facebook in your browser and can receive messages from your friends, right on your IM client. Facebook Messenger is probably the only thing that has been lacking in otherwise a complete social network. Now Facebook Chat supports Jabber/XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol), an open protocol for instant messaging, that can be integrated into any desktop or web based software. Google Talk also uses same protocol. This could benefit both, Facebook users as well as Facebook developers.

For Facebook users, it has been long due to have a trustable Facebook Messenger that could give them access to Facebook chat even after they closed their browser. Browser chat has also been missing important features like message alerts and sounds etc. Now we may see improved applications embedding Facebook chat.

Facebook developers get an exciting new prospect to work upon. They can integrate Facebook chat in web applications or desktop clients. To make it easier, Facebook is also launching support for Facebook Connect that will address the issues Facebook chat client developers may face. And great thing is that adding your Jabber based chat client to Facebook is very easy, just like implementing the Facebook Connect is.

Important Points to consider:

For Facebook Chat on 3rd party apps, you MUST have a Facebook Username

This is a must now. If you want to use a Jabber based desktop client to use Facebook Chat, you must have a Facebook username. Reason: Your chat identity will be username@chat.facebook.com. If you haven’t got a username, you can’t access Facebook Chat on AIM, Pidgin, Adium, iChat or any other IM client. To get a Facebook username, go to http://www.facebook.com/username.

When Logged into IM, You’ll Appear Online on Facebook

If you are logged into a third party chat client, you will appear online on Facebook.

Chat Settings can be changed from Facebook only, not from third party chat clients. You can allow/block friends from Facebook Chat after logging into Facebook. Only friends you chose will appear on Facebook Chat clients.

What is the best way to brand your Facebook page? Put up a huge profile image! Did you know Facebook will let you upload a Facebook profile image on your facebook page upto 200px wide and 600px height.

You can add your own cool vertical skyscrapper and brand your Facebook page for free. Its a great idea to create facebook pages for your blog and develop a community around it.

This is how our facebook page looked like with the smaller logo

And this is how the larger logo looks like (and it can get bigger)

So why didn’t you think of that before? Because the small box at the profile image area makes you think that you can only upload small profile images like most websites. But remember this will also change the small square profile logo that Facebook displays on your status updates and widgets. So choose your image carefully.

Internet the place where the you can have a great appetite for the year long history, Roam the world, Stay Connected, this all happened with the efforts of the all of them.

From it’s birth in the lab of Tim Berners, to its evolution with the WWW its has got the world inside now.

NO ONE CAN REPLACE IT, NOTHING IS LIKE IT, AND IT HAS NO ALTERNATIVE

It is like a gold mine which is never ending, and with the passing time the craziest ideas in the human minds made this God gift, adorable to human beings.

To start with the list, Undoubtedly on 1st is

1.Sergey Brin and Larry Page– Google Inc.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin
Two PhDs from Stanford University started work in the garage of a friend’s. And they were defiantly not building steam engines!
They were, however, creating the internet’s most powerful search engine. Sergey Brin and Larry Page are arguably the world’s most successful Internet entrepreneurs and developers in history. This enabled them to earn billions, while assisting everyone from high school students to particle physicists have an easy time searching for information over the internet.
Google was first launched on Stanford’s website (google.stanford.edu) and then finally on Google.com in 1997. It is estimated that GOOGLE is worth about a staggering $25 billion dollars.

———————————————————————————————

David Filo and Jerry Yang
Yahoo! too is the creation of two Stanford University’s Electrical Engineer graduates, called Jerry Yang and David Filo. Yang started by listing web pages on the Internet and named it “Jerry’s Guide to the World Wide Web”. Then, he decided to switch it to Yahoo! and the initial URL was at akebono.stanford.edu/yahoo
In December 1994, that particular website had already received over a million hits. Realizing its potential, David Filo and Jerry Yang got serious and diversified Yahoo! as a web portal.
David Filo’s net worth is $2.9 billion dollars and Jerry Yang’s is $2.3 billion dollars.

———————————————————————————————
